People will be Less Confused
ChatGPT’s success is due to the fact that it presented GPT-3.5 in a simple conversational format. Since GPT-5 is also available for free (with limitations), everyone can try it out and pay for more if necessary. Although names like GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 have caused confusion in the past two years, Altman says that this will be reduced with the arrival of GPT-5 and GPT-6.

- GPT-5’s greatest strength is that it automatically selects the right ‘reasoning’ (calculation/deep thinking) skill depending on the nature of the question you ask. This makes many of the previous large models redundant.
